Starting college is scary, especially for first generation college students. They really have no idea what to expect; they don’t have parents, grand parents, siblings or anyone to help them expect what they’re going to be put through. During a first generation college student’s freshman year, it is the most difficult because they’re getting acclimated to the college life style.
Summer Dreyer is a first generation college student, and she experienced the difficulty of not only just getting the money to start college, but making friends, establishing relationships and finding ways to have fun. Dreyer is ready to graduate in April, but her start to college really had an impact on her, and the same thing happens to a number of incoming students every year.
