Transitioning to a college community is a big step for everyone, and sometimes it is hard to find a sense of belonging and a feeling of security.
Emma Gadzik, 20, a communication major, ending up leaving WMU last fall before her second semester of her sophomore year due to personal issues. She managed to return this fall for the first semester of junior year.

It is not uncommon that college can be a big stressor on students and can really affect one’s mental state. According to a study from insidetrack.com, says that completion rates for students at public four-year universities was 27 percent lower for first-time students.
Gadzik has found her safe haven with WMU thanks to the friends she had made to call this school a “home away from home.”
