Owning 15 guns may seem strange or excessive to some, but for one local hunter, guns aren’t just weapons, they are tools.
Zach Welsher, 27, from Benton Harbor, was exposed to guns at an early age. He first shot one when he was 10 years old. He’s been hunting the majority of his life and tries to go as much as possible. Welsher particularly likes to hunt deer, geese and ducks.
Welsher works at Blaze Hookah Lounge and says the best part about hunting is being about to get away from everything and just relax.
“Everything I hunt, I eat. I don’t feel bad about it. I’m not out there shooting Bambi,” Welsher said. “Honestly, the only thing I feel when I pull the trigger is recoil.”
